In the context of addressing anemia as a public health issue in Panama, the Agricultural Innovation Institute of Panama (IDIAP) participated in the Teaching Program of the Nutrition Department of the Social Security Fund (CSS) by presenting progress and results from the Regional Iron Rich Bean Project for Latin America and the Caribbean. The session was aimed at 51 nutritionists in the country.
This regional initiative, which includes Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Panama, is led by IDIAP, with technical coordination from Licda. Maika Barría.
The project seeks to promote the adoption of nutritionally sound technologies by producers, bringing together key actors to strengthen the value chain of iron-rich beans in the participating countries.
