As part of the forum "Healthy Eating, a Human Right: Voice and Action in Preventive Health," the Agricultural Innovation Institute of Panama (IDIAP) joined as an institutional ally, reaffirming its commitment to the sustainable development of the agri-food sector and its strategic role in the country's food security.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES), through the National Secretariat for the Food and Nutrition Security Plan (SENAPAN) of Los Santos, in collaboration with the Healthy Eating Movement Foundation of Panama.
During the event, Licda. Maika Barría, a nutritionist from IDIAP, served as a keynote speaker, addressing key topics related to food security and nutrition. Her presentation emphasized the relationship between sustainable agricultural production, access to healthy food, and nutritional education, highlighting the importance of integrating science, agricultural technology, and public policies in promoting preventive health at the national level.
