On April 8, 2026, the fifth edition of Tecnobio was held in Tandil, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The event focused on agricultural technologies and production systems based on biological inputs.
Tecnobio brought together representatives from companies, research institutions, technical organizations, and agricultural producers, creating a valuable platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge on the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of biological inputs in agricultural production systems.
Researchers from the Institute for Research on Biodiversity and Biotechnology (INBIOTEC) and the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) participated in the event through a dedicated stand where they presented the objectives, scope, and main activities of the FONTAGRO project ATN/RF-20638-RG “Harnessing Bioproducts to Strengthen Climate Resilience.”
During the event, the researchers engaged directly with maize producers and other stakeholders, gathering information on key production challenges affecting maize cultivation. They also invited participants to complete a survey on insect pest damage during the 2025–2026 growing season, which will provide valuable information for planning future field experiments and research activities.
The event offered an opportunity to learn about innovations developed by companies and research groups while exploring the growth prospects of the biological inputs sector in Argentina. It also fostered dialogue between technology developers and end users seeking innovative solutions to improve the productivity, sustainability, and resilience of agricultural systems.
Participation in Tecnobio 2026 strengthened connections between the scientific community and stakeholders within the agri-food sector, promoting knowledge exchange, identifying producers’ needs, and creating opportunities for the development and adoption of innovative biological technologies in agriculture.
