Within the framework of the FONTAGRO project “One Welfare for the resilience of livestock farms,” a participatory workshop was held in Paraje Cabral Cué, in the town of General Vedia, province of Chaco.
The event took place in April 2025 at the El Cacique farm, whose owners welcomed participants to foster genuine knowledge exchange between producers and technicians. The meeting was characterized by dynamic dialogue and exchange focused on the fundamentals of Good Livestock Practices with an emphasis on Animal Welfare (BPG-BA).
During the activity, participating producers toured the farm to analyze, together with the owners, the productive yields of the buffalo and the projections for the system. One of the highlights of the day was the identification of volunteer farms as pilot sites for that region. These production units will be responsible for validating the practices proposed by the project under real production conditions, along with other sites in the NEA region.
Technicians from the Colonia Benítez and Las Palmas offices, both part of INTA, provided technical support for the activity. This participation-based approach strengthens local co-innovation processes by combining scientific and technological knowledge with the practical experience of producers, promoting sustainable impacts that are appropriate to local realities.
