From 30 September to 2 October, Montevideo hosted the planning workshop of the seed fund "Sustainable intensification in dairy farming". Specialists from Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela created a regional research platform for dairy innovation. The opening day brought together more than 100 people, including Enzo Benech (MGAP), Álvaro Roel (INIA), Ricardo de Izaguirre (INALE), Daniel Cavestany, José Luis Repetto and Hugo Li Pun.

Participants from institutions such as INTA Argentina, INTA Costa Rica, IPTA, DICTA, IDIAP, IDIAF, INIA Uruguay, INIA Venezuela and Heifer (Ecuador and Nicaragua) visited INIA La Estanzuela and the experimental farm of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UdelaR), and learned about the experience of the CONAPROLE cooperative. As a result, they agreed on a regional consensus project to produce more milk with less environmental impact and greater benefits for farming families.
