On October 20, 2026, Dr. Carlos Figueroa participated in the 5th edition of EXPOSAT 2026 in Pelluhue, Chile, joining technical advisors, strawberry growers, and other stakeholders involved in strawberry production for a day of technical exchange and knowledge sharing.
The event brought together representatives of the Technical Advisory Service (SAT), farmers, and agricultural companies to promote innovation, sustainability, and the adoption of new technologies aimed at strengthening fruit production. Key topics included varietal renewal, the application of microbiology in agriculture, and practical experiences in crop management.
Dr. Figueroa's participation provided an opportunity to share scientific and technical knowledge, discuss challenges facing strawberry production, and explore innovative approaches to improving productivity, fruit quality, and postharvest preservation.
The event also strengthened collaboration among researchers, technical advisors, and growers, facilitating knowledge transfer and the development of sustainable strategies for a more competitive and resilient agricultural sector. These efforts align with the objectives promoted by IICA–FONTAGRO to advance agricultural innovation and sustainable development across Latin America.
