As part of the FONTAGRO project “Multifunctional Bioprotectors for Post-harvest Fruits,” led by Dr. Gabriela Tenea, participation took place in the First Edition of BioSinergia, an academic event organized by the Association of Biotechnology (ASOBIB) at Yachay Tech University, aimed at promoting scientific exchange and innovation in the country.
During her presentation, the researcher delivered a talk titled “Deciphering Microbiomes, Designing Protection: A Metagenomic Approach to Food Security,” in which she discussed the potential of metagenomics as a key tool for understanding microbiomes and developing innovative strategies for food security.
Such academic spaces strengthen collaboration among higher education institutions, fostering the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and scientific advances in strategic areas such as biotechnology and food safety.
Additionally, the participation of national researchers in these events contributes to inspiring new generations of students and scientists, promoting the development of research in Ecuador and consolidating an academic community committed to innovation and scientific progress.
