Within the framework of the project “Mechanisms and Networks for Technology Transfer on Climate Change in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC),” implemented by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the aim is to promote the development and transfer of technologies to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and vulnerability to climate change in the LAC region. This is achieved through the promotion and support of regional collaboration efforts; backing planning and decision-making processes at the national and sectoral levels; demonstrating enabling policies and mechanisms; and mobilizing private and public financial and human resources.
The project prioritizes mitigation and adaptation to climate change in sectors such as energy efficiency and renewable energy, transportation, forest monitoring, and resilient agriculture. Additionally, it includes a transversal component related to the development of institutional capacities and national policies within the region.
