From August 6 to 8, 2025, the FONTAGRO project “Harnessing Bioproducts to Strengthen Climate Resilience” participated in the AAPRESID 2025 Congress, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, through the presentation of the study “Can Native Soil Fungi Contribute to Maize Health Management in More Sustainable Agricultural Systems?”
AAPRESID is one of the leading agricultural events in Latin America, bringing together researchers, farmers, companies, and institutions to exchange knowledge, experiences, and innovations aimed at advancing more efficient and sustainable agricultural systems.
The study highlighted the potential of native soil fungi as a biological alternative for supporting maize health management. The research explores how these microorganisms can be integrated into production strategies designed to improve crop health, promote biological balance within agroecosystems, and reduce dependence on conventional agricultural inputs.
Participation in AAPRESID provided an opportunity to showcase project achievements and share results with an audience engaged in agricultural production, research, and technological development. It also demonstrated the growing interest in biological alternatives capable of addressing the productive, environmental, and climate-related challenges facing modern agriculture.
The presentation of these findings reinforces the importance of continuing research on native microorganisms as a source of innovation for developing new tools for sustainable crop management. It also increases the visibility of FONTAGRO initiatives aimed at promoting more productive, resilient, and environmentally sustainable agricultural systems.
