The publication shows how computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models can simulate the microclimate inside a greenhouse before it is built. In Colombia, a design for the Bogotá savannah increased ventilation by up to 106% compared with traditional greenhouses, and a model for Quindío matched real data with over 86% correlation. The document also highlights the growth of protected agriculture in Costa Rica, from 680 hectares in 2008 to 5,905 in 2014.
