The sessions focused on key areas such as the vegetable value chain, vertical farming systems, knowledge management, and the development of the project’s baseline—essential elements for the successful implementation of this regional initiative.
Participants included Lic. Liliam Marquínez, Lic. Maika Barría, Eng. Noemí Quintero, Eng. Noriel Meléndez, and Dr. Javier Pitti, who leads the project in Panama. Attendees exchanged ideas and experiences aimed at strengthening the socioeconomic approach and its integration with the project’s technical components.
During the second day, meetings were held with Eng. Germán Aguado and Dr. Ana Karol, representatives of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) of Argentina, to identify common ground among participating countries and promote a coordinated regional vision.
These efforts highlight the commitment of IDIAP and its strategic partners to consolidating vertical farming as an innovative and sustainable solution, contributing to the strengthening of the horticultural sector and food security in the region.
