Besides testing forages in the field, the project set out to understand what farmers need in order to adopt them. It held five workshops on the constraints to adopting adaptation measures. There, farmers and technicians shared how they perceive the impact of climate change and variability on their systems, how necessary they consider adaptation, which technologies they know and what the main technological or economic barriers to adoption are. This information made it possible to identify the obstacles and design strategies to overcome them.
Outreach was intense:
- 706 farmers and technicians trained, 25% of them women;
- 26 dissemination activities and 8 presentations at national and international conferences;
- 10 videos and 7 articles or outreach booklets;
- 32 appearances in the press and on social media;
- 4 undergraduate and graduate theses.
