As part of its capacity-building strategy, FONTAGRO held an in-person course in Maracay, Venezuela, in October 2023 and a virtual edition open to researchers across the region in March 2024. The content covered the full project cycle: introduction and evaluation criteria, proposal development, hands-on exercises and a final discussion with conclusions. Participants from several national agricultural research institutes rated the training positively, and it boosted their motivation to apply to future calls for proposals. With these tools, more teams in the region can turn their ideas into strong, competitive projects.
