Consolidating the regional scale within Argentina

During the second half of 2025, the "Resilient Farms with Sustainable Forest Management" project—an initiative funded by FONTAGRO—focused its efforts in Argentina on structuring technical support networks and channeling direct funding toward sustainable production schemes. Public-private collaboration is emerging as the driving force for transforming traditional models into resilient, ecosystem-based systems.

PATChaco: Inter-institutional coordination for regenerative livestock farming

In June 2025, the Technical Assistance Platform for Regenerative Livestock Farming in the Argentine Gran Chaco (PATChaco) took shape, driven jointly by INTA, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Argentina, and more than twenty regional organizations.

The platform structures its actions around three critical pillars:

- Knowledge management and technical exchange.
- Business models and the design of financing mechanisms.
- Public policies that facilitate the adoption of an ecosystem-based approach.

PATChaco seeks to overcome the fragmentation of previous initiatives and build a coordinated working structure to scale up impact regarding biodiversity recovery, sustainable native forest management, and the improvement of rural livelihoods.

Through this project, FONTAGRO coordinates with the PATChaco network via activities carried out at pilot sites and the exchange of generated information. This information stems from monitoring a multiple-use forest management plan that encompasses productive, social, and environmental aspects.
