As part of the 6th edition of the EMPRENDEINTEP 2026 Entrepreneurship Fair, held at the Professional Technical Education Institute of Roldanillo (INTEP), AGROSAVIA participated by sharing progress in digital agriculture achieved in northern Valle del Cauca, as part of regional efforts to promote a more efficient, sustainable, and innovative agriculture. Researcher Liliana Ríos-Rojas, leader of the FONTAGRO project “Digital Agriculture 4.0: Efficient Water Use,” shared with approximately 65 attendees experiences and results related to monitoring the soil–plant–atmosphere continuum for irrigation decision-making, highlighting how the use of sensors, digital platforms, and real-time data analysis can improve water use efficiency, optimize agricultural operations, and reduce operational costs. The presentation also emphasized the potential of digital agriculture as a tool to foster generational renewal, bringing agriculture closer to younger generations through attractive, connected, and dynamic technologies. In addition, the discussion reflected on how these tools can improve farmers’ quality of life by enabling smarter crop management, allowing agricultural decisions to be made in real time from virtually anywhere in the world.
