In the municipalities of Carmen de Carupa and Soracá in Colombia, field days on pest monitoring were held in Participatory Research Centers. In these field days we worked with producers on the importance of pest monitoring in potato and andean tuber crops, emphasizing the importance of the use of scales of damage caused by pathogens and insect pests, as a tool for decision-making in crop management. These tools are part of Integrated Crop Management (ICM) strategies, which bring environmental, social and economic benefits to peasant communities.
