Drawing on 11 experiences presented by institutes, universities and companies, the platform built a matrix of gaps and solutions. With it, partners agreed on seven tool categories:
defining crop irrigation needs;
monitoring crop development;
monitoring the crop’s internal water status;
monitoring soil moisture;
modeling the soil water balance;
modeling regional water supply and demand;
recording and controlling water at watershed and farm level.
In this way, the platform links measurements on a single plant with telemetric management of an entire watershed.
