The project held 27 technology-transfer events attended by 1,013 people: 362 farmers, 599 technicians and 52 students, including 139 women. These were complemented by four international exchanges, two regional and two bilateral, and by talks, teleconferences and webinars that reached more than 330 people. The team also produced more than 40 outreach tools, including manuals, protocols, farmer guides, posters, videos, a Facebook page and media articles, as well as a roadmap to guide the progress of SRI.
Interest spread beyond direct participants: farmers neighboring the demonstration plots began adopting the technology, others asked to join the project, and information requests came from more than 11 countries. IDIAF, FEDEARROZ and IICA made institutional commitments to keep working with SRI, and the closing workshop brought together technicians from 10 countries in the region.
