The Cacao 2030-2050 platform grew out of a FONTAGRO Seed Fund executed by Ecuador’s Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL). Partners include INIAP (Ecuador), AGROSAVIA (Colombia), INTA and CATIE (Costa Rica), IDIAF (Dominican Republic), CIAT and FCIA, with Costa Rica’s National University as associate. Its goal is to establish the region as a producer and exporter of quality cacao, pooling capacities to shorten technology development timelines. Partners met at a regional workshop in Quevedo, Ecuador, on August 28-29, 2018.
