“Cacao is an alternative for coping with the effects of climate change and is now key to consolidating peace processes in certain regions of Latin America,” says project leader José Luis Zambrano Mendoza. Grown in agroforestry systems, cacao is a viable option compared with other crops and has strong potential to connect with the private sector and open new premium market channels.
