The project set a baseline across 270 orchards: 130 berry farms in southern Chile and 140 orange and papaya farms in Costa Rica. OpenFruit is already in use on 110 farms, 70 in Chile and 40 in Costa Rica. The goal is to raise productivity in these family systems by 15% and improve water and fertilizer efficiency by 20%. It is already being put into practice: the data helps adjust irrigation and fertilization to what each orchard actually needs.
