A total of 151 participants, including men and women representing several potato producer organizations in Bolivia, took part in the event. There were members of the associations PUTUCUNI, MARCONI Seed Growers, EL SEMBRADOR, APSEMUSA, APROSER, SUMAJ TARPUY, APROSEPA, ASEP, and the SANTA BÁRBARA Cooperative. The initiative also included students from higher education institutions, such as the Faculty of Agronomy, technical training institutes in agriculture like the Avelino Siñani Technological Institute, and professionals from environmental, commercial, and technological engineering fields. The objective of the visit was to showcase advanced potato clones and high-quality seed multiplication processes.
The agricultural technical tour began with visits to the exhibition stands, for which participants were organized into groups of 25 people. Each group visited all stands sequentially, resulting in a total of 12 stands visited throughout the day. At the stand prepared by PROINPA through the project, the potential and key characteristics of each of the 36 advanced potato clones were presented and explained. These clones originated from the International Potato Center (CIP–Peru) and the National Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Innovation (INIAF–Bolivia).
As part of the agricultural technical tour, the event also featured stands from several companies dedicated to the promotion of agricultural production, including agrochemical companies such as AGRIPAC, DINIAGRO, CIAGRO, SAKATA (from the Santa Cruz department), AGRO-HORTICOM, ABONABOL S.R.L., among others. In addition, the Productive Development Bank (Banco de Desarrollo Productivo – BDP) participated with information on financing options for the productive sector. Likewise, as host of the event, the SEPA seed production unit participated with two stands: one presenting information on the company’s vision, mission, and objectives, and a second stand focused on its laboratory for in vitro plantlet production, subculturing processes, and the generation of high-quality seed.
