On August 9th, the webinar titled “Megalurothrips usitatus: biology, ecology, and management in bean cultivation” took place. This notable event, led by FONTAGRO, the Institute of Agricultural Innovation of Panama (IDIAP), University of Florida, Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, Nicaraguan Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), AGROSAVIA – Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation, Directorate of Agricultural Science and Technology (DICTA) – Honduras, and the Dominican Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Research (IDIAF), featured the participation of prominent experts and leaders in the agriculture and agribusiness sectors.
The main purpose of this event was to share the innovative strategies that these prestigious organizations are implementing to combat and mitigate the Megalurothrips usitatus pest in beans. This provided a valuable opportunity for the specialized teams working on this issue to share knowledge and experience.
The success of the webinar lies in the active and committed participation of experts and professionals in the field, who collaborated intensively, exchanging innovative and effective strategies to address the challenges related to this pest in bean cultivation. The event highlighted topics such as:
