Project: Regional control platform for bovine leukosis
Technological-Organizational-InstitutionalCapacity BuildingAppliedPlatform countries agreed on a regional proposal that combines science, good practices and training, with the goal of moving toward national certification programs with incentives for producers.
The regional project proposal has three pillars:
standardized diagnostics;
pilot programs for vaccination, genetic selection and preventive management;
training for producers, veterinarians and animal health services.
The strategy aims to improve herd health without changing how producers work. This protects producers’ profitability and strengthens the region’s dairy sector in markets.
