Since 1998, FONTAGRO has co-financed 204 innovation laboratories for USD $150.7 million, contributing USD $30 million and leveraging the rest with other agencies and participants.

As of June 30, 2024, the investment portfolio had a market value of USD 98.85 million.

We implemented 59 operations totaling USD 46.5 million, with FONTAGRO contributing 21%, New Zealand and other agencies 8%, and participants’ counterpart funding 71%.

FONTAGRO was created 1998 with the purpose of promoting the increase of the competitiveness of the agri-food sector, ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources and the reduction of poverty in the region. The objective of FONTAGRO is to establish itself as a sustainable financing mechanism for the development of agricultural technology and innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean and Spain, and to establish a forum for the discussion of priority topics of technological innovation.
