This event, led by FONTAGRO, the Agricultural Innovation Institute of Panama (IDIAP), the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the National Agricultural Technology Institutes (INTA) of Argentina and Costa Rica, the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation – AGROSAVIA, the Center for Agroindustrial Production and Research – UTP, and the Technological University of Panama, aims to socialize how LED technologies in agriculture have revolutionized the way food is cultivated and produced.
These lights offer benefits such as higher energy efficiency, the ability to adapt the light for different crops and growth stages, and a longer lifespan compared to traditional lights. Some common applications of LED lights in agriculture include illumination in controlled environments, greenhouses or growing houses, stimulating plant growth throughout the year, controlling the flowering and fruiting of crops, and optimizing the quality and yield of harvests. Additionally, LED lights can help reduce the use of pesticides and herbicides by promoting healthier plant growth.
