Impactful innovations: lessons from family agriculture on adaptation to climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean
2015 COMPETITION FOR SUCCESSFUL CASES. FONTAGRO, organized a competition aimed at identifying successful cases of family agriculture adaptation to climate change and disseminating lessons learned, in partnership with the “Mechanisms and Networks for Technology Transfer Related to Climate Change in Latin America and the Caribbean” project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the IDB, as well as with IICA’s support.
This publication includes a detailed description of winning cases. Each case includes data—quantifiable in most cases—that shows that producers are now in better conditions than they were before they carried out the innovations. In general, cases have had major involvement by technology users and have been implemented in partnership with several research and development institutions. Lastly, we have included some reflections and a summary of lessons learned.
