On February 14, FONTAGRO hosted a webinar titled “AI for everyday use in scientific research,” bringing together a broad audience interested in exploring the applications of artificial intelligence in research.

The webinar featured a presentation by Dr. Martín Oesterheld, Chief Scientist at FONTAGRO and Honorary Professor and Researcher at the University of Buenos Aires and CONICET. He shared his insights and experience on how AI can be a valuable and inspiring tool, particularly for those who have not yet fully integrated artificial intelligence into their work.

During his presentation, Dr. Oesterheld emphasized that in recent years, generative AI models have become increasingly accessible to those working in scientific and technological research, providing tools that can make research more effective and efficient. He stated: “We are in a transitional phase where different levels of adoption of this technology coexist, in a context marked by uncertainty about its limits and future prospects.

Additionally, he highlighted how AI can assist in analyzing problems from multiple perspectives, offering more personalized information than traditional tools. He also stressed AI’s capacity to accelerate and simplify the reading of technical documents, reduce language and disciplinary barriers, and assist with writing, statistical analysis, and visual content creation tailored to different audiences.

We extend our gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and commitment to the topic, and to Dr. Martín Oesterheld for his valuable presentation, which undoubtedly provides innovative tools and perspectives for researchers looking to incorporate AI into their daily work.
