The project "Adaptation of corn and beans to climate change in Central America and the Dominican Republic" (PRACCA) ", proposed to contribute to the reduction of poverty in the region, through research on the adaptation of corn and beans to climate change. This action linked the bean and corn networks of the Agricultural Technology Integration System (SICTA). In its development, it established five components: i) Identification and registration of corn and bean germplasm with characteristics of high productivity, adaptability to climate change; ii) Participatory evaluation in pilot communities in the countries; iii) Monitoring and analysis of climate information; iv) Identification of factors that guide research in corn and beans; v) Disclosure of generated information.
Regional strategy for research and adaptation of beans and maize within climate change scenarios with a view to promoting the adaptation of production systems.
Small and medium-scale corn and bean producers, as well as their related organizations, cooperatives and associations.
This project actively contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting more equitable, resilient, and sustainable regional development.
