
This project proposes international technical cooperation aimed at promoting regenerative agriculture in Argentina and Paraguay through a public-private partnership between INTA (Argentina), IPTA (Paraguay), and Bayer Crop Science, with support from FONTAGRO. Building on the experience of the Bayer Forward Farming initiative, the project will design and implement field pilots that integrate sustainable practices such as diversified crop rotations, cover crops, digital precision agriculture, and the introduction of new crops. These actions will be carried out on pilot farms, evaluating production, environmental, and sustainability indicators to generate robust scientific evidence and replicable methodologies adapted to different agroecological realities. Furthermore, the project will foster dialogue between public and private stakeholders to define recommendations that facilitate the regional scaling up of these practices. The project will generate regional public goods in the form of protocols, open databases, and technical and scientific publications, strengthening capacities through training, extension services, and producer networks. The initiative is expected to increase agricultural productivity and profitability, improve soil health, reduce the environmental footprint, and promote biodiversity, contributing to FONTAGRO's sustainability, innovation, and food security goals, and serving as a model for a more resilient agri-food transition in Latin America and the Caribbean.
