Scientists from the Reproductive Biotechnology Group of EEA Balcarce carried out a short stay at EMBRAPA Gado de Leite in Brazil for training in in vitro embryo production and to advance joint projects.

Between December 16 and 18, 2024, members of the Reproductive Biotechnology Group of EEA Balcarce participated in a short stay at EMBRAPA Gado de Leite in Juiz de Fora, Brazil. The objective was to update their knowledge in advanced reproductive biotechnology techniques, including in vitro embryo production, zygote electroporation, embryo biopsies, and cryopreservation.

During the visit, Argentine researchers met with EMBRAPA Gado de Leite authorities, including General Manager Dênis Teixeira da Rocha and other key officials in research, technology transfer, and animal reproduction. These meetings provided an opportunity to present the capabilities of both institutions and discuss strategies to strengthen scientific cooperation.

In addition to training in cutting-edge techniques, the sessions included discussion rounds and planning for collaborative research activities. As a result, an agreement was reached to draft a joint international project on reproductive biotechnologies and gene editing, along with the possibility of future researcher exchanges between the two institutions. This initiative strengthens scientific ties between Argentina and Brazil in a key area for innovation in animal reproduction.
