Participation in the XXV Latin American Symposium on Solid State Physics

Published at: 07 November 2024

Our researcher, Dr. Rogelio Ospina, presented advances in the use of nanomaterials in agriculture, in one of the key events in Latin America for the discussion of innovations in Solid State Physics.

The XXV Latin American Symposium on Solid State Physics, an event recognized throughout Latin America as a benchmark in materials physics research, took place from October 23-26, 2024 at the Universidad del Atlántico, Sede Norte, Puerto Colombia. This symposium brought together leading international experts to discuss the latest advances and contributions in the field, fostering collaborations and knowledge exchange.

During the event, our researcher Dr. Rogelio Ospina, presented a paper entitled “Nanomaterials in Agriculture: A Study on the Structural Properties of Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, and Zeolite Nanofertilizers”. This research is an important advance in the development of more efficient and sustainable fertilizers, with the potential to optimize nutrient use and reduce the environmental impact on agricultural soils.

Dr. Ospina's presentation is part of the project “Nanofertilizers in Soil and Nitrous Oxide Emissions”, which aims to quantify how nanofertilizers can improve fertilization efficiency and contribute to the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. His participation in this international symposium reinforces the quality and relevance of our research, highlighting the application of nanotechnology in sustainable agriculture.
