Workshop: Methane from Rice: Current and Emerging measurement techniques

Published at: 21 May 2024

First training session of the project "Satellite methane monitoring in rice growing regions of Latin America

You are cordially invited to our event on greenhouse gas monitoring in rice crops! During this day, we will have the opportunity to explore recent advances in the calculation and estimation of greenhouse gas emissions, particularly methane, in rice environments. We will have distinguished experts such as Arlene Adviento from USDA-ARS (United States), who will present a new approach for calculating greenhouse gas fluxes using the closed chamber method. Additionally, Cristhian Delgado from the University of Otago (New Zealand) will introduce us to new technologies for estimating greenhouse gas emissions, both in situ and from satellites. We will also discuss relevant projects on methane emissions reduction, presented by Gerardo Escudero from IICA. We look forward to your presence to enrich this conversation and move forward together in sustainable solutions for agriculture!

The event will take place on June 10 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Panama City. You can register at the following link: https://forms.gle/6NP3ASAcPCXptCNe8
