Strengthening International Ties: Researchers from Ecuador Visit Colombia in the Framework of the Nanofertilizer Project Financed by FONTAGRO

Published at: 16 October 2023

International collaboration in action: Ecuadorian researchers strengthen nanofertilizer research in Colombia, boosting sustainable agriculture.

n an effort to promote technical collaboration and knowledge transfer in the agricultural field, researchers from Ecuador made a significant visit to various sites in Colombia as part of the research project "Nanofertilizers in soil and nitrous oxide emissions" financed by FONTAGRO.

During the visit, which included the Universidad Industrial de Santander sites in Malaga and Bucaramanga, as well as the Guatiguará Technology Park, a fruitful exchange of experiences took place. The Colombian team received detailed training on the use of aerial vehicles to evaluate the nutritional quality of crops, while the Ecuadorian researchers had the opportunity to learn about the facilities and processes used in Colombia for the production of nanofertilizers and their use in greenhouse crops.

The visit not only strengthened ties between the research teams of both countries but also contributed to the concrete progress of the project, enriching it with new perspectives and strategies. International cooperation, highlighted by coordination meetings during the visit, was essential to consolidate an integrated approach to project management.

This meeting represents a significant advance in joint research and a milestone in building bridges between nations to address common agricultural challenges. The shared experience and ties forged during the visit lay the groundwork for future collaborations, promoting innovation and sustainable progress in the agricultural sector of both nations.
