"At the INTA Basail Rural Extension Agency, a livestock training session was held for farmers and technicians. During the event, research, extension, and technology transfer projects conducted by our institution were presented."

The activity took place within the framework of INTA Projects PE-I-046 "Technologies in Pastures, Grasslands, and Forages for Livestock Systems"; PE-I-044 "Subtropical Diseases in Northern Argentine Livestock"; PE-I-050 "Sustainability of Livestock Systems in the Northeast of Argentina," and INTA-FONTAGRO "Increasing Bovine Productivity in the South American Chaco."

- The event began with welcoming remarks from the Agency Head, Lic. Ruben Geijo, and the Livestock Project Coordinators at INTA, Dr. Victoria Rossner and Agricultural Engineer Diego Bendersky.

- The first presentation was given by Dr. Victoria Rossner on "Impact of Integrated Control of Common Bovine Ticks." The current situation, real cases of strategic tick control in the field, recent research data, and proposals for comprehensive tick control in productive systems were discussed.

- Next, Agricultural Engineer Marcelo Pamies addressed the topic of "Sowing and Establishment of Pastures in Eastern Chaco." General aspects of pastures, recommended species based on the environment, the importance of seed quality, land preparation for sowing, recommended timing, management practices for land care, and efficient production and use were presented. Productivity data for various species and cultivars in fields in eastern Chaco were also provided.

- Finally, Veterinary Surgeon Carlos Dávalos and the owners of the "Don Anselmo" demonstration farm, belonging to the Duarte family (Mr. Anselmo and Mr. Héctor Duarte) in Colonia Las Mercedes, presented some production records. They highlighted the extension work and productive developments recommended by INTA AER Basail.
