Nanofertilizers in intensive alfalfa and forage production under greenhouse

Published at: 23 November 2022

Within the framework of the project, two undergraduate theses were developed at the Universidad Industrial de Santander - Sede Málaga.

Undergraduate zootechnical students presented the results of their work titled "Fertilization and nanotechnology in the intensive production of forage under greenhouse conditions" and "Nanozeolite in the intensive production of alfalfa (Medicago Sativa) under greenhouse conditions" co-directed by Professor Julian Botero who is part of the research team of the project "Nanofertilizers in the soil and nitrous oxide emissions".

These studies conclude that the implementation of nanofertilizers significantly increases the production and nutritional quality of biomass, in addition to contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

This encourages the development of a sustainable technology, providing a basis for the development of more efficient production systems.
