On May 27, 2022, in Maquinchao, Río Negro, a conference was held with producers, technicians and students on animal nutrition with emphasis on sheep flock nutrition.
Nutrition from INTA Bariloche and organized by the Secretariat of Family Farming and the Municipality of MAquinchao.
The aim of the seminar was to train producers, local technicians and students in sheep flock nutrition management.
The following topics were addressed: nutritional requirements in different physiological stages of sheep, the types of feed to be used, as well as the amounts to be offered per animal. In the field, work was done with a flock to evaluate body condition and dentition, in order to evaluate the categories to be supplemented.
Local producers, affected by the decrease in rainfall and the consequent lack of forage and water in livestock farms, participated in the meeting. In addition, agricultural science professionals and students from different localities with careers related to agricultural production also participated. Certificates of participation were awarded at the end of the event.
From the project we promote innovations that improve productive efficiency, thus adapting to the effects caused by climate change.
