Best management practices in dairy cows for pastoral systems

Good management practices for grazing dairy cattle at the Fundo San Juan de Yanamuclo of the IRD Sierra, with professional specialists from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry of the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (UNALM).

On April 23, training in "Good management practices in dairy cows for pastoral systems" was carried out using the livestock infrastructure, grazing fields and Brown Swiss cows at the San Juan de Yanamuclo farm, following the adult learning methodology, which values the producer's previous knowledge, and seeks to incorporate good management practices and animal welfare, aimed at increasing the volume and quality of milk, in order to improve competitiveness in the dairy market. Eduardo Fernandez Curi, a specialist in grazing animal nutrition.
For the practical classes, the project provided inputs, practice materials and biosafety equipment for the participants in the context of COVID 19. In addition, specific technical bulletins were provided to reinforce technical knowledge, which are permanent reference materials in their family production units.
