On Tuesday, October 13, INIA Remehue researcher Marta Alfaro V. presented the first seminar on greenhouse gases, conducting as part of the training to be received by the project participants.
The exhibition focused on the emission of N2O from the soil in agricultural systems and was seen by more than 50 people. In the seminar, Dr. Alfaro presented the importance of the study of greenhouse gases to arrive at sustainable agricultural productions and to be able to obtain local N2O emission factors from the sector, necessary for the generation of greenhouse gas inventories. She also explained how the emission of N2O is related to the nitrogen cycle and physicochemical parameters of the soil and how to carry out measurements in the field and in the laboratory. All this was accompanied by recommendations when studying N2O emissions, in order to produce quality data.
