Since I received biology in my last year of high school, I got passionate with genetics and heritability. Thus, I made of that passion my life, and pursuited a degree in Biology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua-León (UNAN-León) in León, obtaining my degree with honors in 2007. I focused my research in population genetics of tropical trees using molecular markers.
My passion and honors made me worthy of the Fulbright Grant, which permit me to get a M.S. degree of Forestry in 2012 with a minor in Statistics and a concentrations area in Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding.
Currently, I work at UNAN-León as lecturer and researcher.
My research interests include: Tree Breeding, Forest Genetics, Population Genetics, Forest Ecology, Climate Change, Tropical Forestry, Coffee (Coffea spp.), Banana and plantain (Musa spp.), Biogeography, and Agroforestry.
