Ricardo Labarta is a Senior Scientist and the leader of the impact assessment research team at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT). He has many years of experience working in impact assessment of agricultural technologies and natural resource management. His economic research has focused on biotechnology, integrated crop management, experimental economics, agricultural extension, public-private partnerships, and natural resource economics. Ricardo has developed his professional career in several countries in Africa and Latin America, and has previously worked at the International Potato Center (CIP) and the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF). Ricardo Labarta has a PhD in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and a Master's in Agricultural Economics, both from Michigan State University.
