I am a highly motivated, dedicated and confident research scientist and teaching professor with over 25 years of expertise in the areas of coffee plant pathology, coffee improvement and coffee integrated pest management and more than 15 years of experience on Data Analytics, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. My leadership in all these fields in Colombia and Latin American countries is well recognised and I have also been involved in a large number of national and international collaborative endeavours. Research activities in these areas have also contributed to my skills in the management of large projects and scientific groups. I have published around 30 scientific papers, 3 books, and 7 book chapters and I have led projects of ∼U$8.5M in research funds as Principal Investigator since 2001.
I am an adviser in the areas of Data Analytics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Plant Pest Control Management and Genomics, for public and private Research Institutes in Colombia and abroad.
My present post involves the management of Data Analytics, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Research Projects with a high impact in Colombia in the areas of Health, Biodiversity and Agricultural sectors.
