My main fields of research are the genetic resistance of plants to pathogens and the development of IPM programs. I have worked on genetic variability of pathogens, genetic resistance and IPMs in wheat yellow rust, quinoa mildew, bean rust and anthracnose, lancha in potato, naranjilla and tree tomato, anthracnose in naranjilla and tree tomato and Fusarium wilt babaco and naranjilla. I also work in diagnosing diseases of crops such as fruits, vegetables and flowers. I have also presented lectures at seminars and talks for farmers nationally and internationally. I have organized and participated in teaching courses on resistance and integrated disease management. I have also done consultations on disease management of crops such as flowers, broccoli, rubber and tropical fruits (papaya and pineapple).
