Biography

Researcher with extensive experience in biological control and integrated pest management. His areas of emphasis are plant pathology and microbiology. He has worked at the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation since 1994 where he formed a research group dedicated to the Research and Development of biopesticides for the control of phytopathogens (soil, foliar and postharvest) and insect pests. He has published 104 scientific articles, 23 books and 27 book chapters, has received 23 recognitions, of which nine national awards granted by the Scientific Societies of Colombia and an Honorary Doctorate conferred by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in 2009 stand out. She has assumed management responsibilities (eight years as director of the Center for Biotechnology and Bioindustry) and has teaching experience at National, Andes, Military and UPTC Universities.
