Dr. Nicolás Ayub holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences obtained in 2004 and a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry obtained in 2009, both from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (UBA). In 2009, he joined the career path of CONICET at the Institute of Genetics of INTA. Since then, he has been leading a research group focused on microbial genetic improvement with the aim of promoting sustainability in agronomy within the context of global climate change. His main challenges include increasing the efficiency of bacterial inoculants (such as enhanced colonization and nitrogen fixation) and mitigating the environmental impact of modern agriculture (for example, enhancing glyphosate degradation and reducing nitrous oxide emissions).
