Charles is an expert in natural resources and agricultural production economics, Crissman has worked at CIP since 1986, in Lima, Quito and Nairobi, as scientist, Project Leader, Country Liaison Scientist, and most recently as Regional Leader. He has contributed greatly to bringing issues of human health into CIP’s program and with a wide range of collaborators developed the Trade-off Analysis Method for natural resources management research. He has a thorough knowledge of CIP’s commodities and his background in research on production systems and impact analysis will invaluable to the future development of CIP’s program. He has also contributed greatly to the development of the vision and strategic direction of the Center.
Crissman has presented or published over 110 papers on potato and sweetpotato systems, technology adoption, impact analysis and integrated assessment of agriculture, health and the environment. Widely traveled and highly qualified, Crissman brings over 20 years experience in agricultural development to this demanding position.
