Roberto A. Quiroz is a biophysical scientist at the International Potato Center (CIP) based in Lima, Peru, where he leads a multidisciplinary team of agronomists, Biologist, Physicists, Mathematicians, Electronic Engineers and Programmers conducting research on methods and tools to assess the impact of climate variability and change on agriculture and the feedback of agricultural practices to the environment. He was born in Panama where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and worked for the National Agricultural Research Institute (IDIAP). He obtained his MS and PhD degrees from North Carolina State University (USA) and worked for the International Development Research Centre (Canada) prior to joining CIP. He also spent a sabbatical leave at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA-Cal Tech Institute) in Pasadena Ca (USA).
