She is an Agronomist from the Universidad de La Frontera in Chile, a doctor in soils from the University of Reading, England. She currently works as National Deputy Director of Research and Development and researcher in the area of ??environment and livestock at the Institute for Agricultural Research, Remehue Regional Research Center, in southern Chile. Her main area of ??research is the evaluation of the impacts of livestock and agriculture on the environment, and the development of mitigation alternatives. She has led research projects in the field of climate change and Greenhouse Gas emissions in livestock systems based on grazing. She is Chile's representative in the area of ??environmental sustainability in international forums such as the Livestock Group of the Global Research Alliance (GRA) and the International Milk Federation (IDF-FIL), among others. In addition, since 2012 she is part of the Panel of Experts of the United Nations Framework Program for Climate Change, being a reviewer of National Inventories of Greenhouse Gases and National Communications and Biannual Reports. For her career, she has been recognized with scientific awards, the Government of Chile and Chilean livestock associations.
