She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and since 1998 has been a lecturer in matters related to the Commercial Management of organizations in the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). His research topic is the study of agrarian and food systems and developed a doctoral thesis entitled "Management of the policy of food distribution of organic agriculture: proposal of an holistic and agroecological indicator system ". He is currently working on two main lines of research: the analysis and definition of processes for the development of local food strategies and the analysis and creation of mechanisms and instruments for the development of such processes (indicator systems, participatory guarantee systems, economic and social impact analysis, among others). It develops its research activity from an agroecological perspective and through methodological approaches of Participatory Action Research, in collaboration with agents and initiatives of the productive and consumption sector of the territory. Consequently, it participates in various research projects, publications and meetings both local and international.
