Armando is born in Colombia, a Biologist with a master's degree in Agrarian Cencías, 23 Years of experience in research for development, in the areas of biotechnology, Climate Change, participatory crop improvement, knowledge management, social appropriation of technologies, information technologies and communication, inclusive digital agriculture and Big Data. I have participated in the formulation, coordination, execution and / or monitoring and evaluation of projects, national and international, with various sources such as the IDB, World Bank, USAID, Fontagro (three projects), international foundations, national governments in Latin America and the sector private, as well as I have participated and / or led consultancies on issues of Knowledge management and Digital Agriculture. My work has focused on guiding the development of technologies and solutions based on the felt and real needs of the different users and beneficiaries in Latin America, and ensuring that these technologies are adopted and appropriate by these beneficiaries, whether they are producers, professionals, entities or governments.
Currently and for 15 years linked to the International Center for Tropical Agriculture, CIAT, now the Bioversity Alliance - CIAT. CGIAR member alliance.
